Phweet
Personally, now that there’s no more twitter sms :(
I really find it quite less interesting.
But…
Voice conference adds personal touch - emotional dimension.
The sound of someone’s voice advances one’s experience from ’social’ to personal level.
Could Phweet be the saving grace?

For a week or so there’s a very nice music search service called Songza that’s getting not so few attention.
Clean and simple but quite efficient with its audio searches. Search, that’s where Youtube comes in, apparently, it’s YouTube contents.
But the site is really done pretty good. If you’re just into music streamings then this is the one.

Hushmail
Not that I’m against the move besides this was within the bounds of law.
But this should be an utter reminder to individuals and groups operating under repressive governments, as much as possible, to avoid network that’s centralized by nature. Part and parcel of that is email. If avoiding centralized networks is futile then encrypt emails using PGP and for instant messenger users, fortunately there’s OTR. OTR is really impressive and have the right things for secured communications. I do suggest using Pidgin and my favorite Miranda. Both a multi-network instant messenger clients whereby can be use with your ym,msn, aol, etc. accounts and with its own respective OTR plugin version.
PGP have its version for Voice communication (VOIP), the Zfone.

TalkShoe
This development is the best thing could happen these days to most of us specially IM users.
As if having all your IM accounts in a single interface, neither downloads nor installation needed is not enough, here comes teleconference courtesy of Talkshoe.
Meebo now, indeed a platform to reckon with notwithstanding Facebook’s but that’s another story and besides there’s nothing much to write about such a walled garden;)
Meebo’s platform somehow bridges all major IM networks and now a teleconference to have with all those buddies of yours from all those different networks.
What can you ask for more? Video Chat and Live Broadcast you say? They have it with TokBox and Ustream Tv respectively !
Rocket Science? Nahhh..But there’s a rocket ship icon for those integrated services to use with your buddies ;)

pibb.gif
As i mentioned months ago they introduced irc and Pibb channel bridging or relays.
After weeks of actual use, its stable enough to deserve another note.
In fact, there’s a relay between Tor irc and WASTE Nullnet channels but for privacy it have to be taken down from this site and totally out for public viewing but there’s an embedded channel that can be found in all comment/reply area of Public Key section.
This is very useful for individuals who can’t keep up with real-time discussions in irc as Pibb provides you the means to read them later and reply accordingly as needed.

WhiteBoard. Web 2.0

Whiteboard
Whiteboard is an indispensable tool for collaboration specially in real-time. Combining it with voip particularly teleconference and you have a trully collaborative tool at your disposal.
Scriblink and Skrbl are two online whiteboards that’s fast and easy way to start with. No registration needed, at least, for public whiteboards. In just few seconds you’re up and running.
As mentioned earlier teleconference is one major factor should be considered and that’s where Scriblink stays ahead of Skrbl. Not only it has a teleconference but a chat system well integrated to go hand in hand with your whiteboard.

Whiteboard+Teleconference+Chat
Now that’s where Vyew comes in and but without excluding Scriblink. If a basic whiteboard is not enough for you then nothing beats Vyew.
Vyew is more than just a whiteboard, a comprehensive collaborative tool. The list of features or possibilities you can do with it is quite long to enumerate here. Comparing the screenshots of both will already give you an idea.

Vyew

WEB 2.0
Basically i prefer Scriblink as it have the basics needed specially its teleconference. But it lacks widget to embed.
As far as this site is concern that’s one thing needed to able to accomplish in making a mashup of widgets to show the amazing possibilities you can accomplish with WEB 2.0 and at that without installing anything but merely using your plain old browser.
Vyew provides a widget though the whiteboard is read-only but still its enough to totally WEB 2.0-enabled this site.
One limitation, the teleconference of Vyew as with Sriblink is limited to US users only as the access number provided is only available in US unless you’re willing to incur international call charges.
If you haven’t notice, this site is VOIP-ready courtesy of yackpack. So with yackpack widget even without access to Vyew US number, non-US guests can able to teleconference.

With Vyew, YackPack and Meebo’s private messaging makes this site a truly WEB 2.0-enabled site.
A site you can collaborate with anyone, anytime, anyway and anywhere without installing anything and buying any gadgets ;)
Take a look at WhiteBoard page.

Note:
It will really awesome and more compelling if SIP is part of their teleconference as Talkshoe did with theirs.

DCSNet is a suite of software that collects, sifts and stores phone numbers, phone calls and text messages. The system directly connects FBI wiretapping outposts around the country to a far-reaching private communications network.

dcs_3000_network580_2.jpg

What DCSNet Can Do

Together, the surveillance systems let FBI agents play back recordings even as they are being captured (like TiVo), create master wiretap files, send digital recordings to translators, track the rough location of targets in real time using cell-tower information, and even stream intercepts outward to mobile surveillance vans.

FBI wiretapping rooms in field offices and undercover locations around the country are connected through a private, encrypted backbone that is separated from the internet. Sprint runs it on the government’s behalf.

The network allows an FBI agent in New York, for example, to remotely set up a wiretap on a cell phone based in Sacramento, California, and immediately learn the phone’s location, then begin receiving conversations, text messages and voicemail pass codes in New York. With a few keystrokes, the agent can route the recordings to language specialists for translation.

The numbers dialed are automatically sent to FBI analysts trained to interpret phone-call patterns, and are transferred nightly, by external storage devices, to the bureau’s Telephone Application Database, where they’re subjected to a type of data mining called link analysis.

MobiVox
Last week skype was all over the news due to almost all skype users can’t logged-in for a day or two.
Don’t worry this post is not a rant about it.
You might find MobiVox quite interesting, its skype services makes it possible for you to call skype users using ordinary telephone and without the needed internet connection.
They provide several international access numbers and bridge your calls to anyone in your skype contacts.
And its Voice recognition is quite fascinating ;)
